Indoor Athletics

The indoor athletics event is a very popular event at PEPS so the children were extremely excited to go and compete. Just like every year, the event was split into two days: Year 5/6 and Year 3/4. This event is made up of field events such as javelin throw, standing long jump and chest push. The track events consisted of a number of different relay races such as obstacle relay, 2 + 2 lap relay and 4 x 1 lap relay. These events were all calculated on a points system.

They are 32 schools that compete in this event and it is split between, a morning event and an afternoon event. We attended the morning session and out of 16 schools, we came 3rd on both days taking back to school bronze medals. The children were overwhelmed with their achievement, which was fully deserved showing great determination and skill throughout the event. Out of the full 32 schools, taking into account the afternoon session. The year 5/6 children  came 4th and the year 3/4 children came 5th.

A huge well done to all of our athletes that competed!
