Lee Stephenson Cup
On Friday 10th February, the Y3/4 football team went to MFC herlingshaw centre to compete in the Lee Stephenson cup. The boys that went were Zak, Dylan, Adam, Lucas, Harvey, Dru, Deaton, and Kevin.
The group that we got placed in were full of very strong teams and the games were going to be extremely competitive. Our first game was against St Josephs, the boys started very quickly and were playing some outstanding football. We won the first game 3-0 goals coming from Deaton 2 and Dylan. Next game we played against Caldicotes, again the boys were playing at a very high intensity and demonstrating great bits of play. We won 3-1 goals coming from Lucas and Deaton. Acklam Whin was our next game and we knew from the very start it was going to be tough. The tempo of the game was superb and both teams were cancelling each other out as a result the game finished 0-0. St Edwards was our last group game another strong side and good footballing team. St Edwards scored 3 very quick goals and then Adam Morgan sneaked one past the keeper late on for PEPS. We finished on 7 points which sent us through to the semi final where we face Rosewood. They took the lead early on and PEPS were denied a great chance in the box however Rosewoods goalkeeper pulled off a great save so unfortunately we lost the game.
The boys performed outstanding throughout the competition demonstrating good teamwork, discipline and togetherness. Well done to all pupils you should be very proud!
