Year 3/4 Football Competition

On Friday 1st July, Park end competed in a Middlesbrough schools football competition at the Sports Village. We entered both a boys and a girls team. The pupils in the boys team were Lennon, Louie, Jordan, Harvey, Dylan, Tyler, Lucas and Deaton. The pupils in the girls team were Amelia, Melody, Elissa, Paige, Lilly, Kennedy, Rihanna and Charlotte.

Depending on your morning results you were placed in a group for the afternoon. The boys had a very steady start of winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 1 with only conceding two goals. The girls also had a successful morning winning all of the 5 games they played without conceding a goal! Both teams were extremely excited for the afternoons play by gaining confidence from the morning. The boys were drawn into a very tough group which forced them to win 1 draw and lose 2 which unfortunately knocked them out. Nevertheless they showed outstanding team play and some great goals were scored. The girls were also drawn into a competitive group because of their results from the morning but they relished the chance to play against a number of strong teams and went into every game fearless. They drew 3 and won 1 which actually sent them into the final where they come up against a strong St Clares team. The game started off very fast but unfortunately conceded a goal late on which denied Park End the chance to come back. As a result the girls team came runners up in a very competitive competition.

Well done to everyone involved! Mr Storey and Mr Holmes were extremely proud of the pupils!
