Our School Ethos and Values
Our Ethos
At Park End Primary School, our ethos is built on creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported to achieve their full potential. We recognise all children as unique individuals and strive to develop their character through the values, behaviours and attitudes that will equip them for successful futures.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do. They inspire high expectations, guide our teaching and learning, and foster the personal, social and spiritual development of every pupil. We provide a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that celebrates different learning styles and abilities, encourages independence and promotes a lifelong love of learning.
We are committed to creating a stimulating, welcoming learning environment where achievement is celebrated and children are encouraged to excel in reading, writing, oracy, mathematics, science and all areas of the curriculum. We promote excellent behaviour, equality of opportunity and respect for the diverse lives, cultures and beliefs within our community.
Working in partnership with parents, carers, governors and the wider community, we aim to provide enriching opportunities both within and beyond the school day. Through the promotion of British Values—Mutual Respect, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Democracy and Tolerance—we prepare our children to become responsible, confident and compassionate citizens.
School Values
Our school values are at the core of everything we do.
We recognise all children as unique individuals and we help them build character through developing the values, behaviours and attitudes needed to equip them for successful futures.
Our values underpin our teaching and learning and they support the personal, social and spiritual development of every pupil throughout the school.
Our school values are:
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Positivity
- Hard work
- Honesty
- Caring

Pupils are encouraged to develop and display these values. When an adult witnesses a value being demonstrated, pupils are directly rewarded to highlight the value they have shown.
Pupils are also expected to show an understanding of how they contribute to developing them as an individual and how they help create a positive learning environment.
School values rewards:
The school values are aligned to our house point system.
Pupils are assigned to ‘House Teams’ and are rewarded with team points for demonstrating the school values. Strong emphasis is placed on why pupils have received a team point.
Our school council are responsible for collecting team points and awarding the winning team with a reward each half term.
The coloured House Teams are:
