Beverley Park – Referrals
At Beverley Park, we work in partnership with Middlesbrough Local Authority, mainstream schools, families and professionals to ensure that children receive the right support at the right time.
Our assessment and intervention placements are designed for primary aged pupils with Autism and/or Speech Language and Communication Needs who would benefit from a period of intensive specialist assessment and targeted intervention to inform their future educational pathway.
Who can be Referred?
Children may be considered for a placement where there are significant concerns relating to:
- Autism or social communication differences
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs
- Emotional regulation and sensory needs that impact learning
- Difficulties accessing learning within a mainstream environment despite appropriate support.
- A need for specialist assessment to inform future educational provision.
A formal diagnosis of Autism of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is not required for a referral to be considered. Each referral is assessed on the individual needs of the child.
How are the Referrals Made?
Referrals are co-ordinated through Middlesbrough Local Authority Inclusion and Outreach Team as part of the graduated response to SEND.
Mainstream schools work in partnership with the Local Authority to identify pupils who may benefit from specialist assessment and intervention at Beverley Park.
Parents and carers who feel their child may benefit from our provision are encouraged to discuss this initially with their child’s school or SEND Caseworker.
